The Big O’ Foundation

A local nonprofit, the Big O’ Foundation, focuses on suicide prevention. Named after son Owen Skelley, parents Joe and Jennifer Skelley seek to promote mental health awareness.

As someone who works with a therapist and doctors about my mental health, I feel passionate about working with organizations that are advocates for those who do not feel they have a voice.

Signs for the Owen Skelley Field

When the Organization wanted to rename a local baseball field after Owen, they came to Alpha Graphics for all their design and printing needs, including sponsor yard signs, rack cards, thank you cards, and more. The field now features metal signs in the outfield, on the dugouts, on the bathrooms, on the concession stand, and at the field entrances containing mental health resources, inspirational quotes from Owen Skelley, Big O Foundation information, a picture of Owen Skelley playing baseball.

After the unvieling of the signs, I interviewed Amy Bartachek, a board member and contact at the Big O’ Foundation. If you want to hear her thoughts and what the Skelley’s has to say, click the button below to see their testimonial.

Overall, it was a really humbling and amazing experience to work with them, so much so I started working with other nonprofits outside of work.
